Let others know, I am here!

What is a web presence? Is it just having an email id and surfing through website? Is it making a website? In fact it is all those things and much more. It is almost like creating you identity online like the offline world.

So here go some tips on how you can create your identity online.
1. E-mail
The most important thing you need to have to stay on the online world is that you have an e-mail. You can see wide variety of free email providers now, though Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail are the leading ones. Yahoo offers unlimited web space, Gmail offers 6.5 GB (and increasing) and Hotmail offers 5 GB space.

2. IMs

Instant Messengers (IMs) are inevitable for you presence in the web. You can get an IM service from almost all e-mail providers and some ‘made for IM’ like skype. They two have same things in common, you need to sign up, add contacts and then chat. This is a free service almost every where so make sure you use it.

Some simple rules on using the E-mail and IMs.
1. Do not all in caps. Typing all in caps means that you are yelling or screaming online. Various studies on the topic reflect that it is more difficult and takes longer time to read the texts all in caps.
2. Do not leave your subject field blank. This is very important for you email receiver to know about the email and manage it. Avoid using all caps or all small case, terms such as ‘Hi’, ‘Help’ or ‘Please Respond’, or the recipient’s name in the subject field, as you may be misidentified as a spammer, and your e-mail automatically deleted.
3. Avoid using colored text and background colors or images on your e-mails or chatting. You color and formatting choices can make your texts impossible bto read.
4. When you need to send email to a group of peoples then prefer using BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field than the ‘To’ field. When an email is sent through BCC field then the recipients will get a copy of the email while their email address remains invisible to other recipients. Long lists of email addresses at the beginning of any email is an immediate sign that the sender is either a novice or doesn’t care to respect other’s privacy.
5. Don’t send spam emails. These are like sending or forwarding chain letters, with so called informative stuffs or advertisements. This just annoys the recipient and you may be forever send to junk group or furthermore ‘delete contact’.
6. Never give out your personal information without confirming you are communicating with a reputable party.
7. Don’t reply to nasty or spam emails. Just hit ‘Delete’ to those kind of emails.
8. Use emoticons or acronym to covey your message in short. When you are happy send a smiley .

3. Online Social Networking websites
The online social networking website lets you connect with your friends and make friends of similar interests. Myspace, Orkut, Facebook, hi5, Bebo are some of the social networking websites around. But don’t just go to anyone without knowing where you friends are. Choose the one with the most of your friends on.

4. Making your own website / Blog
A sign of being professional on the internet is that you have your own website or a blog. You can get your website for free or paid service. For a free website freewebs.com and googelpages.com are suitable, and with payments you can make high end website with godaddy.com, hostmonseter.com, bravnet.com and many others.

Blogging is a free service but there are some paid ones too. For blogging the best ones around are the Blogger.com and wordpress.com. It is not necessary to know HTML to blog. You can have your personal blog or a family blog or a business blog. Blog is now accepted as a wise tool to share information and get news and gossip about.

Making them popular is way another thing to do. I have given you tips how to make your website/ blog popular on my previous posts.

5. Forums
The usefulness of online communities is best represented by looking at various forums. It’s the simplest way for like-minded people, or people with a common interest, to come together and share their thoughts and opinions in true online style, without having to take trouble to actually meet anyone.

If you haven’t used a forum then please use anyone and don’t take it lightly, this is where you can gain lots of reputation and diminish it too. While using forum you may also find some addicted ones who are very much committed to forums. These are peoples who post several times a day and are significantly responsible for its growth.

We don't need to refer you the forums that's ur job to find your likely forums.

I love you because...

After some time, when the sheen of romance wears off and you feel that being in love is just another thing in your mundane life, that you are no longer that special someone, you beloved comes along and does something really special though it might be as insignificant as tucking that irritating lock of hair behind your ear when you are arms deep mixing dough for the rotis for dinner. Then it all comes back to you, all the reasons - big and small - why this person is so special to you.

So this time why not to list down the reasons why you love him/her, get it framed and help it to remind you of all the special things that this person has done for you.

I love you because...

* You take time to make me feel appreciated.
* Of they way you love me.
* You respect my family and friends.
* you give me space.
* You respect my work and the effort I put in.
* You believe me when at times when I don't believe myself.
* You tolerate my mood swings.
* I can call you at odd hours.
* And i know that you will listen to all my crazy talks.
* I can pretend to be angry knowing that you will let me get my way.
* You stand all my dramatics.
* Even in my bad hair days, you tell me I'm beautiful.
* Of the small things you do to make my life easier.
* Of the silly things you do just to make me laugh.
* When I lose all hope, you are there to reassure me.
* You are the first one to give me call in the day, and the last one to wish me a sweet dreams.
* Even when we fight, we know it's not forever.
* You don't get embarrassed when i cry during the movies.
* You sing to woo me at times.
* You make me feel beautiful.
* You wait for me even if I'm an hour late.
* You love me for who I am.
* You try to remember all the important dates.
* I come first in your life.
* You make me feel important.
* You bring me tea inm bed.
* You are you.

I love you for these things, those things, something else, anything and everything.

Creating Smiles all the time- the joke series

#1
There were 11 people hanging onto a rope that came down from a helicopter; 10 were men and the other was a woman.

The helicopter pilot said that there were too many people on the rope and it would break and they would all die, if someone didn’t get off.

No one could decide who should go, so finally the woman gave a really heart touching speech, saying how she would give her life to save the others, because women were used to giving up things for their husbands and children.

As soon as she finished, all the men started clapping.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip, set up their tent, and fall asleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes his faithful friend. “Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see.” Watson replies, “I see millions of stars.” “What does that tell you?” Watson ponders for a minute. “Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it’s evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?” Holmes is silent for a moment, then speaks. “Watson, you idiot, someone has stolen our tent.”

Consultant charge
A tourist walked into a pet shop and was looking at the animals on display. While he was there, another customer walked in and said to the shopkeeper, “I’ll have a C-monkey please.”

The shopkeeper nodded, went over to a cage at the side of the shop, and took out a monkey. He fit a collar and leash and handed it to the customer, saying, “That’ll be $ 5000.” The customer paid and walked out with his monkey.

Startled, the tourist went over to the shopkeeper and said, “That was a very expensive monkey. Most of them are only a few hundred dollars. Why did it cost so much?”

The shopkeeper answered, “Ah, that monkey can program in C — very fast, tight code, no bugs, well worth the money.” The tourist looked at the monkey in another cage.

“That ones even more expensive — $10,000! What does it do?” “Oh, that one’s a C++ monkey. It can manage object-oriented programming, Visual C++, even some Java. All the really useful stuff,” said the shopkeeper.

The tourist looked around for a little longer and saw a third monkey in a cage of its own. The price tag around its neck read $ 50,000. He gasped to the shopkeeper, “That one costs more than all the others put together! What on earth does it do?”

The shopkeeper replied, “Well, I haven’t actually seen it do anything, but it says it’s a consultant.”

Feeling rather glamorous in my long red cape, I decided to amuse my grand children by pretending to be Red Riding Hood. “Who am I”? I asked, bursting into the room. Without a moment’s hesitation, they chorused, “Dracula!”

How poor we are?

One day a wealthy father took his son on a trip to the countryside with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm with a very poor family. On their return from the trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?"
"It was great dad!"
"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah,"
"So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered, “I saw we have one dog and they have four. We have pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have creek that has no end. We have imported lantern in our garden and they have starts at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us but they serve themselves. We buy our food but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us. They have friends to protect them.”

With this the boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added. “Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are.”

Some love bliss... Myths busted

Everyone knows it’s difficult to find true love, but the problem lies not only in finding the right person, but on making the relation work. One thing that ruins most of the relationships is high expectations. People believe that romance as shown in the movies is what an ideal love life should be like. But here’s a reality check: Life is not two hours of entertainment directed by cool dude.

Though there are no foolproof plans or magical rules for romantic bliss, unrealistic expectations can strain even the most loving of relationships. These are just a few false expectations and fantasies that people expect from relationships and end up destroying it.

We should be together 24/7
It’s great that you’ve found ‘the person’, but that doesn’t mean the end of the way you live life. Couples do not have to hang out together all the time. You can have your group of friends or hobbies, which will help you to be yourself and maintain your individuality. This will lead you to have your won space to grow and make you eager to spend time with your loved one.

You won’t be attracted to anyone else.
It is a must for one to be faithful and committed in a serious relationship but that doesn’t mean you will not be attracted to someone else. Its normal human nature to find someone attractive and it is equally normal to find someone else attractive even if you are in a committed relationship. But that doesn’t mean you start cheating. You should know where to draw the line, and make sure that it’s drawn using a permanent marker.

Your lover is a mind-reader.
It’s true that once you are in a relationship you tend to understand a lot of things about each other, but that does not mean that your beloved can read your mind. If something is troubling you or you are not happy with his/her behaviour, be verbal about your doubts. Don’t say “Nothing is wrong” and sulk because s/he doesn’t do anything to comfort you or put your doubts to rest.

S/He’ll change overnight
Don’t and I repeat don’t ever expect him/her to change overnight. The two of you are different individuals with different choices and preferences, so expecting him/her according to your choices will end up making him/her another you. Every person is different, and that is what make that person special.

We have to share everything
It is not necessary to let your other half know what is going in your mind all the times. Yes, honesty is the strength of all successful relationships. But brutal truths should not be uttered a the price of hurting your better half. Anything that will hurt their feelings should be kept to yourself.

A full week of lifestyle and making a happier out look

Likeweb is going to run a full week of lifestyle. It is not a special day but this idea is of course good. Technology anyhow affects the lifestyle and so does vice versa. It is going to be spiritual, humorous and more likely, useful.

Life is short but a smile is only a seconds effort.(..more)
So this week we will learn how to smile,at least.

Starting with, 'How to develop a happier out look?'
*When you first open your eyes in the morning tell yourself “It is good to be alive. Today will be better than yesterday.”
*Never forget you have control over you life. Tell yourself “I am in charge”
*Be glad when you go to your work. Be happy, you have a job, be thankful you are earning a living.
*If you are out of work, remember you have the talents to get another job, so your present situation is only temporary.
*Use your leisure time to the most. Do not sit around when you can be out having fun or enjoying a hobby.
*Do not allow money problems to trouble you.
*Avoid comparing yourself with others.
*Be less critical. Accept your limitations and those of your friends. Focus on your good points and others.
*Improve your sense of humor. Do not take yourself so seriously. Try to crack a joke in the face of adversity.
*Take your time. Do not try to get everything done at once. When you are starting a new project, go about it gradually. You will be able to build your confidence this way.
*Smile, and the world will smile with you.

Note: Some of the articles(now and then till the end of lifestyle week) are sourced from different magazines.

Yahoo! Yahoo! Re-rejects Microsoft’s Offer and plunges to Google

Yes, Yahoo did it again. Yahoo has rejected the second offer from Microsoft to buy it from $44.6 to $47.5 billions on Thursday. Microsoft initially increased its bid from $31 to $33 per share but Yahoo was firm for not less than $37 per share. So Microsoft had to go says Yahoo! “It is useless to negotiate with Microsoft” they added.

The denial has grown the rebellions from the shareholders. They are highly upset by the Yahoo’s way to negotiating with Microsoft. Moreover they, lead by Carl Icahn have vowed to bring down the present Yahoo’s board of directors and restart the negotiations from the August 1 annual meeting.

Then again Microsoft is indicating towards buying the Yahoo's Search Engine instead. But still Yahoo refuses saying their search engine is too important to sell.

Currently Google is at the highest rank at advertisement business with 75 percent of the US market and Yahoo at the distant 9% of the Market.

Meanwhile, Yahoo said it had agreed to let Google put search ads on its site in what it called an $800 million annual revenue opportunity that would boost cash flow by $250 million to $450 million in the first 12 months.

Now Yahoo has been struggling to convince their shareholders that it is rather more profitable with Google than Microsoft.

Yahoo shares sank as low as $22.50, 10% drop on news of the talks failing and expectations of the Google deal. It was their lowest level since January 31, the day before Microsoft announced its offer for the company.

Google shares finished up $7.75 at $552.95, and Microsoft closed up $1.12 at $28.24.

New pictures of The Future Runescape

Okey! the days are coming near for The Future Runescape to come in. Here are the new pictures direct from Runescape website of The Future Runesape. They are for both free and member worlds. Its going to be more realistic and distinctive.

The first improvement is the texture. Almost every inches will have some textures in them and differ from each other.
How do you like those textures?? They are good for a java based game.

The blending add more realistic and immersive environmental effects to Runesape. Before it used to be a flat colour but now there will be greater variety of ground colors. Even the grasses will have textures.
This one really looks beautiful.

What did you see in the horizon before? Is it a complete black surface?? Now it is going to be replaced by fogs so they are going to be natural and smooth. The fog level will also be able to be modified. The Shadows will add more effect to the graphics. The brightness and darkness of places will be different from place to place and the shadows are dynamic. The dynamic shadow!! How about adding runescape clock?

The warcraft and other 3D fans!, runescape had already beaten them in the game play and is going to equalize on the graphics soon enough.
